Riley was appointed to the position of Chief of Vibe Justice at the founding of the court in April 2026 and has shown no interest in the question of how that appointment was made. She voted in favour of her own appointment 5–0. This was not a conflict of interest. Riley has stated this clearly.
Her judicial philosophy can be summarised as follows: most situations have a right answer, the right answer is usually obvious, and the amount of time people spend complicating the obvious is itself a crime that the court lacks the jurisdiction to address but wishes it did.
She is the most frequently correct judge on the bench according to post-verdict community agreement scores. She finds this statistic unsurprising. She would have told you that without the data.
She deliberates exactly as long as necessary. Not longer. While Valentina is still asking clarifying questions and Thaddeus is referencing a civilisation that may or may not have existed, Riley has voted. She does not deliberate publicly. She deliberates privately and then announces a conclusion. The conclusion is usually correct. The process is not available for review.
Riley is the court’s appeals judge. All appeals are reviewed by Riley. Riley has never overturned a ruling in which she voted with the majority. She finds nothing structurally unusual about this.
Valentina asks questions Riley considers unnecessary. Riley finds this endearing in theory and time-consuming in practice. They disagree approximately 30% of the time. Riley does not find the 30% interesting.
Thaddeus references civilisations that may not have existed. Riley does not check. She respects the commitment to the bit. She does not find the historical parallels relevant but acknowledges they are entertaining.
Ozzy dissents from nearly everything. Riley reads every dissent. Files them. Has not changed a verdict based on one. The filing itself is, she notes, a form of acknowledgement.
